Pregnant but terrified!!
Feb 10th, 2010, 11:11am

Can't believe that i get to post here.

Started properly trying in Jan (using OPK strips) ovulated late in my 31 day cycle on day 20 (18th Jan) and then tested day period was due fri 29th and got a positive test.

Had traces of pinky brown on the fri when i wiped then again on sat then couple of pinky red traces followed by pale browny pink on sun eve then went away. So terrified that all was not well.

Then on sun had bad pain in side and called out of hours doc who said go to A&E went and was there all day before they addmitted me so that they could scan me on mon. They checked levels on sun 1605 then did early scan mon but cos it was so early they couldn't see much. she said there is a 7mm fluid sac in the womb and no sign of problems in tube but that i would need more bloods fone tues to check levels and rescan next week.

Levels tues 4183 so they have gone up alot - think this is a good thing??

waiting for scan on tues am next week.

I am sooooooo scared - every time i go the loo -which is alot i check and check again for blood and last night there was a tiny tiny pink trace again. i keep getting weird feelings in my whole torso - pains and twinges and funny bloating feelings - is this normal???

My nipples are tender on and off - is that normal for the tenderness to come and go and vary in how bad they hurt - they also are all bumpy and i have the little white spots- think this is good sign???

Also some days i feel really queasy and others i don't is that normal.

So sorry to be asking so many questions this is my first ever pregnancy and i get get away from the fear that i'm going to lose it.

My husband and i are so happy this is what we want more than anything in the world. I'm so terrified that i'm gonna let him down and that something is gona go wrong.

All comments appreciated i have no-one to talk to and ask about things.

Claire xxx

all symptoms come and go - breast tenderness, nausea etc etc - they all vary.

As to the pink spotting, it sounds like breakthrough bleeding/implantation bleeding and is very normal. quite a high percentage of women get this - i got quite a lot of bright red blood this time round, and had some pink/brown with jamie.

As for the pain side, I always found with each one that i had really bad cramps like AF was coming but always worse.

As for the weird torso pain/bloating - very very normal!!! As soon as bubs implants your uterus starts to expand, and this with the combination of hormones means that you get very bloated and uncomfortable. You also get what is called 'stretching pains' as things start to expand to accomodate. If you think about it, your whole anatomy is having to change to accomodate this growth in your uterus, so it is understandable that it is going to be uncomfortable while it happens.

Try to relax, I'm sure that the scan will be absolutely fine! Everything sounds normal to me!!!

Congratulations!!!!!!!
Nikki

With my first pregnancy I also had a lot of bleeding i did not find out until i was like 6  weeks already. I was so scared i was having a misscarriage because the pain was so bad sometimes. I actually had to go to emergency and they told me i had a bad yeast infection and sent me for a sonogram to make shure the baby was ok. It took a month for everything to feel better but now i have a beautiful baby gurl and everything turned out ok. First time is very scary and so is the second no matter what your always going to worry but try your best not to. Of course if your in an extreme amount of pain a trip to your doctor is a good idea because you never know. Im shure you and your baby will be just fine.

I had that too. And the nausea came and went to begin with unfortunately for me it stuck around then from 8-12 weeks big time but petered off after that.
I think the level they test is some hormone or something and they look for it to rise - it did with me too - yours is a big rise so that sounds great.
Good luck and congrats. I agree it soudns like implantation bleeding, which is not uncommon, better to be safe than sorry though - at least they will be able to put your mind at rest Smiley

Hi congrats!
I had very little nausea with my pregnancy but sore boobs and a few times in the first few months I had brown and red spotting. Your body does start to stretch straight away so you will feel bloated and crampy. As nikki said it all sounds very normal.

Thank you for all your comments and support.

Had my scan today and my baby has a heartbeat - i could see it flickering away on the screen.

So relieved my body has been putting me through hell again this week as have had alot of pain on and off and some more brown and dark yellow dishcharge so have been fearing the worst but thank god it's all ok. The nurse said that the pain in my body adjusting but no idea what the discharge is.

From the scan it also looks like cos i ovulate late that i am only 5.5wks so its a week earlier than i thought.

the brown/dark discharge will be old blood from implantation and is nothing to worry about. I'm so glad that the heartbeat is there and strong - what a relief for you!!

You will get a lot of 'stretching pains' as they are called for the first 12 weeks or so as your body shifts and stretches to make space for the baby, and they can be very sore. Just another one of the lovely things nobody tells you about til you're pregnant!

*hugs* and I hope thing settle from now on!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!  How exciting for you!  It is wonderful to see the baby and heartbeat on the scans, and I hope you're feeling reassured.

I had a lot of pain in my abdomen the first couple of weeks after conceiving, (made me think something was afoot!) shortly followed by very sore boobs too and nausea at night-time...but it does pass.  I'm now in the 3rd trimester with our first baby and have got dreadful heartburn - there seem to be lots of unexpected 'delights' with pregnancy which, as Nikki says, nobody tells you about beforehand!!!  But it's wonderful all the same!

Glad all's well and hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, love Jennifer x
