So sad
Mar 9th, 2010, 12:25pm

We are all in shock. Johns Nan who is the nicest, kindest person and the best Nan ever has just been diagnosed with pancretic cancer. She had seemed so well and was suddenly rushed to hospital in loads of pain on friday, by saturday she had been diagnosed with cancer, her skin has turned yellow and she's lost half a stone! Then it got worse yesterday when the doctors said there is nothing more they can do and they reckon she has got about 3 months left. We are devestated last night we had to sit the girls down and tell them that she's not going to get better and they were inconsolable as they are so close to her and spend so much time with her. John is distaught as she pracically brought him up and he doesn't see his real mum so she was his Mum. We have not stopped crying for 3 days and just feels unreal.

She is the one that brings the family together, comforts us and looks out for us and makes everything special like christmas and birthdays. Can't imagine her not here everything will be empty without her. Her husband (Johns grandad) is broken and don't know how he will cope as she did everything they've been married 55 years! Johns Nan is being so brave and saying she's accepted it and not to worry and to look after the kids and grandad and she is still fussing over us all telling me where the kids easter eggs are and their pocket money etc...

She can hopefully come home in a few days but coming home to die. Can't believe this is happening. Know that there is no good time and would have been uset anytime but just don't feel ready and feel so sad that she won't get to see kids gow up!

Suppose we just have to spend as much time with her as possible now and cling to our memories!

Thanks everyone! Nan is back home now and looks a lot better now it's really misleading as everything feels like it's back to normal with her back in her own home and she's being really strong and doesn't even talk about being ill. Worry though that she's not telling us how bad she really feels because she doesn't want us to be upset. Feels like were in limbo as don't know what to expect or how long it's going to be now.

Another thing is were meant to be going on holiday in July we've paid fortunes for it and brought soooo much stuff already and now were probably going to cancel. If she's still around we obviously won't want to leave her but if she' not then we will want/need a holiday but how late can we leave it before we decide?

Anyway at least she's home with her family and we can spend lots of time together!

I'm glad she's home and has her family with her.
That's really difficult about your holiday, can you get any refund?
